Project 2: Sketchup Models
The main idea I am trying to push here, its the dark interior of the building and the spotted sunshine on the floor, which can be seen as spot light on the stage.
Project 2: Final Narrative and Inspirations
Narrative:
The woman sits quietly, playing the show of her loneliness in her safe den on the isolated island.
Firstly, the rich tone and the darkness of the painting strength the feeling of loneliness and isolation, however, the enclosure of the space also offers the feeling of safety. Secondly, by analyzing the composition of the drawing, the curtain on the left appears to be floating in the air, which creates an atmosphere that the room the girl stays in is another world. This environment is also similar to the stage. I think these two elements generate some different atmosphere. Since the girl is in another world, or stage, so the feeling of her loneliness may be just her appearance in another world her performance. That’s why I came up with the narrative about show and the observer.
Church of light: the overwhelming light go through the large window is quite powerful, it can strength the contrast between the lonely tiny woman and the free observer
Large opening: the large opening is also an element that could create loneliness and in my design, the large opening of window could be wide but narrow which limit the lighting.
Christian Louboutin high heels: its high heels mostly represents feminism which is illustrated by its design of red fabric bottom and extreme height. thinking of some kind of feminism idea in my design, I chose this certain brand and use its curved shape as the form of the building.
Painting of an island: I chose the island in the painting as my site.

Narrative
The first impression i got from this painting is the sorrow and darkness trapped in the space. That led to my first narrative;
Curtain is gone.
Sorrow no longer hides;
it sails away with the light,
as the darkness is trapped.
However, this narrative is weak of its lack of sence of space. So i kinda developed it into;
Longed to escape from the fotters of void, 'it' lingers on the untouchable sills.

Project 2
Girl reading a letter at window is a paiting finished in 1657 by Dutch paiter Johannes Vermeer. This is the earlist painting about young lady of him and accroding to the war background at that time in Dutch, these kinds of paitings were mainly about letter and the sadness it brought to the character.
